Day 143 - 15th August 2007

My visit to East Anglia was mercifully short and after getting the train to Birmingham this morning I stopped off there for a while instead of changing trains.
I don't want to go on too much about the visit as anything I say about the fens will only be deemed rude and unnecessary; as if that hasn't happened already!
Birmingham, however, was as great as ever; it's a place that I really enjoy visiting these days and today was no exception, even in the intermittent pissing rain. I got a picture of Selfridges, I did some shopping, I ate some food, drank some coffee and went to the BBC at the mailbox centre; Bob Harris was recording his Radio 2 country show. I loved it all, but it's not that interesting to talk about. There was one thing however...
I was standing in the open air part of the bullring shopping centre, when suddenly I see a guy running away, being chased closely by a police officer. That's a normal thing in Birmingham, but this copper was on a push bike! What's best is that when they went down to the street level near the church, we could all watch it from above. The policeman actually went down the stairs on his bike and outdid the robber who got truncheoned; there was a huge round of applause afterwards, the guy had literally nicked the moves off James Bond! How could he possibly have beaten a guy on some stairs on a bicycle? The guy's a real action man!
It's results day tomorrow and that mark what will almost certainly be the last time I ever set foot at school again. If I pass, then that's great, if I fail then I will not hesitate to go through clearing; I don't want to spend yet another year in college, I'll just be wasting my life away.
