My parents came up to see me today, which was somewhat effortless on my part considering it was my mother’s birthday.

We went to Cartmel for lunch, which was somewhat poncy – but the great taste made up for any pretentiousness on the chef’s part. After lunch, it shat it down so we went to Tesco and went home.

It’s not often you get to end up being in a car for 3 hours, then buying your kid some food on your birthday but that’s what mum did today – good on her!

Anyway, it was a nice day out – if somewhat short-lived.
