It was a long morning even before breakfast today, with three Skype calls coming in before I could even have a wash. The perils of free international calls rear their ugly faces – especially when the callers are hours ahead of time in the far east.
That and a few uncharacteristically important emails later, I finally got to having some breakfast when someone came in claiming their throttle had broken. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet, but we have a guest staying with us from America for a couple of weeks, and everyday she goes out with her sister to catch up with old friends, or to sightsee.
Her sister came, as usual, to pick her up, except this time with a friend, and it was her friend’s car that broke down. Anyway, I took them home and the AA were quick to respond to their friend’s call so she was already gone by the time I got back.
It rained hard for the rest of the day, so I didn’t do much else. I manage to wangle some chocolate raisins out of it all though, so it wasn’t a complete waste.
