I went for a long long drive today, all the way down the west coast – about two and a half hours in total. It’s a nice place though. For some reason there were few people on the roads and it was fairly easy going overall. There are villages nestled in the hills dropping straight into the sea here – I hear Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones live on the island, my guess is that it’s probably around here somewhere.
After that I went to Calvia, a nice town in the south, to meet with someone there. Although it’s not by the sea, it’s really somewhere you would be happy to live in – up in the hills, packed full of quiet bars and not far from Palma; I’m surprised I didn’t see more tourists here.
I’ve just got back from watching England beat Croatia 5-1 at Wembley – a very nice result indeed especially considering the last time we played them in London they knocked us out of the qualifiers! So far England have won every single match in their qualifying group and tonight’s result, I believe, means that we’re through to next year’s world cup in South Africa. It’s rare that we get through so easily, it’s good to see the national side play so well.
