If anything is, this bath will be the death of me. It’s been sitting in the flat, propped up against the wall ever since I got here. I’m under instruction to get rid of it and get a shower fitted instead. That’s a different story altogether, but first on the list is trying to get rid of it.
I lifted it out of the flat door into the corridor and headed towards the lifts with it. It wouldn’t go in the lift at all, so I had to go for the stairs. As I was lugging it down the stairwell, I was intercepted by someone coming up. He asked me what I was going to do with the bath, and I said I was taking it to the tip. He said they don’t take them at the tip, and unless you can get it in a bin, you’ll have to call the council.
I thanked him for this information, and continued down the stairs – I was just going to dump it by the bins. However, the guy wasn’t having any of it. He asked me where I could possibly be going with this bath now, and even gave me the council’s number to call. There was very little I could do now, so I had to head back up. He helped me bring it back to the flat. Now it’s outside on the balcony.
I think I’m going to have to shift this at the dead of night. I can’t help thinking though that if they find a stray bath anywhere, word will probably get out about whose it might be.
