Day 1021 – 9th January 2010

Day 1021

Snow! In the med! It’s pretty much unobtainable, I noticed a couple of roads leading up to the mountains were closed, but it’s there. I haven’t actually seen a flake fall from the skies, but I hear they got some down south in Palma.

I got stopped by the police today, on this very journey in fact. I noticed they’d set themselves up on the roundabout near my house, and they let me through on my way out. On the way back home, they decided to pull me over. I wouldn’t mention it if it hadn’t had taken so long. When I opened the window, the officer said he’d seen me go through twice and asked me why. That seemed to be a stupid question, as I was going in opposite directions, but I just nodded.

Anyway, I parked up and they searched the car. They then asked me to get back in the car and one of them said ‘Do you smoke weed?’ I said I didn’t, which is true, but then he said ‘I’m sorry sir, I’m going to have to take your details.’

The whole process took half an hour – I guess I must look particularly shifty.

Then later on – another weird thing happened. Remember the crazy swastika guy from Day 919? Well, if you do you’ll be pleased to know that he came back today. You can listen to the two-part account of it here and here. I couldn’t get a picture of the carnage, there were police everywhere and my camera ran out of battery (a first for picture of the day, by the way).

It’s been a strange, strange day. All of it goes further towards my theory that I am currently living in the twilight zone. The thing is, stuff like this (maybe not as extreme, the crazy guy trashed the place) happens almost every day – I just don’t really take notice of it anymore. It’s probably best I don’t.
